Gospel – Luke 11:29-32

Divine Appeal 212: “The wrath of My Eternal Father is approaching; unthinkable to mankind. In this sacrilegious struggle much of which has been created by man will be demolished. Due to both savage impulse and enraged resistance.”

The readings of Jonah and Luke deeply touch the heart, resonating with our Most Beautiful Lord’s pitiful yet urgent Divine Appeal (212).His words are not those of a distant judge but of a loving Savior, warning us because He desires our salvation. Jonah preached to the Ninevites, and they soon humbled themselves by fasting and repenting of their sins. It was not out of dread of retribution, but rather from a real recognition of God’s mercy. This same call resounds in the voice of our Adorable Jesus, who longs for souls to rise from the depths of sin and break free from the chains of indifference.

In the Gospel, Jesus laments the hardness of hearts — a generation seeking signs while ignoring the very Sign standing before them. How often do we, too, wait for a dramatic sign from God, forgetting that His Real Presence in the Blessed Sacrament is the greatest miracle of all? Our Adorable Jesus grieves over the “sacrilegious struggle” unfolding in the world — hearts resisting His grace, truth being twisted, and what is holy being torn down. Just as He warned, much of what has been built by human pride and rebellion will crumble, not by His will, but by the very sin that distances us from Him.

Yet, even now, His call remains a whisper of hope. The wrath of the Eternal Father may be near, but mercy still flows from the heart of our Adorable Jesus. He is not waiting to condemn — He is waiting to embrace. Like the Ninevites, we are given a moment of grace to change, to fall to our knees, and to beg for souls. This is the time to respond, to pray a great deal, and to lift the veil of sin that blinds the world. His appeal is not a threat but a loving invitation — before it is too late.

Prayer:

Our Adorable Jesus, embrace us with Your mercy and gently lead us back when we stray. Plant in our hearts a true desire to turn from sin and a burning love to pray for the salvation of souls. May Your tender call awaken every heart before the moment of justice comes. Amen.
