Embracing Divine Wisdom and Humility

Divine wisdom, flows from God alone, the very source of all knowledge, forever preserved by Him. Wisdom is not acquired through human endeavor but is rather a gracious endowment bestowed upon those who revere and humble themselves before the Lord. The fear of the Lord is not the fright of punishment but rather the wonder of His greatness, where His commands are embraced as pathways to holiness. Without such holy fear, hearts are darkened and drift further from the source of wisdom. Sirach 2:1-11 reminds us that serving the Lord requires readiness for trials, since suffering is not proof of abandonment but a call to greater trust: just as gold is tested in a furnace, so are hearts tested in affliction. We are solemnly invited by Adorable Jesus to hold on to Him in faith; His grace will sustain us through all of our difficulties, and His mercy will never fail us.

Mark 9:30–37, in which the Master predicts His Passion and Resurrection, offers yet another important lesson. The weight of the Master’s teachings is not understood by the disciples because they are too focused on themselves. . They engage in weighty discussions about who is the greatest, to which, like a Gentle Master, our adorable Jesus tries to correct them. “You want to be great?” He advises us to “be like a child,” since greatness is not created by titles, rank, or power, but by service. Being last and a servant of everyone is the prerequisite for being first in God’s kingdom. When Jesus embraces a kid and places them among them, he emphasizes the need for selflessness and simplicity. It is a sobering reminder that the way to holiness is not through worldly ambition but through humble love, seeking nothing in return but the pleasure of Him.

Our Adorable Jesus expects us to live a life of vigilance — praying without ceasing. The reason is that the enemy works tirelessly to mislead souls. He advises us that prayer and interior mortification provide the ammunition necessary to safeguard one’s spirit in purity. Even when the struggle appears tedious and burdensome, we can always call upon Him for strength and refuge, yet hold fast in the holy fear of the Lord. Grounded in truth and His light, we walk with steadfast faith, believing that His mercy will always outshine the darkest hour. Let our lives, skillfully infused with ardent and sincere zeal, become reflections of a heart praying and sacrificing for the conversion of souls. Let our desire to lead others to our Adorable Jesus overflow into all our words, actions, and even silent offerings.

Prayer:
O our Adorable Jesus, grant us wisdom rooted in holy fear, strength in trials, and hearts humbled in Your service. Refine us like gold, that we may embrace Your will. Help us pray unceasingly and offer every sacrifice for souls, leading others to Your merciful love. Amen.
