54 Day Rosary Novena

The 54-Day Rosary Novena is a special and powerful devotion prayed over 54 consecutive days for a specific intention. For someone just starting, it’s important to understand that this novena does not follow the regular weekly rosary schedule (like Joyful on Monday, Sorrowful on Tuesday, etc.). Instead, you pray in a fixed cycle: Day 1 is the Joyful Mysteries, Day 2 the Luminous Mysteries, Day 3 the Sorrowful Mysteries, and Day 4 the Glorious Mysteries. You repeat this 4-day pattern continuously until Day 27. Then, starting on Day 28, you begin the second half—the 27 days of thanksgiving—following the same cycle again (Joyful, Luminous, Sorrowful, Glorious) until you complete Day 54.

The rosary during this novena is accompanied by specific prayers depending on the phase you are in: during the first 27 days (petition phase), you say the petition prayer after the rosary; during the last 27 days (thanksgiving phase), you say the thanksgiving prayer. Additionally, each day includes the Spiritual Communion, the Memorare, and the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel after completing the rosary. This novena is a beautiful journey of deep trust, commitment, and perseverance in prayer, offering your heart completely to God through Mary.

Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

Our Father
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Mother, the future sufferings of His Church, and His own sufferings in the Blessed Sacrament, He cried in anguish, “Abba! Father! If it be possible, let this chalice pass from Me!”; but, immediately resigning Himself to His

2. Ascension

Meditation:
Glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of the Ascension, when your divine Son, after forty days on
Earth, went to Mount Olivet accompanied by His disciples, where they adored Him for the last time, after which
He promised to remain with them until the end of the world; then, extending His pierced hands over them in a
last blessing, He ascended into heaven.
I humbly pray…

3. The Descent of the Holy Spirit

Meditation:
Glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of the Descent of the Holy Spirit, when, the Apostles being
assembled in a house in Jerusalem, the Holy Spirit descended upon them in the form of fiery tongues, inflaming the hearts of the Apostles with the fire of divine love, teaching them all truths and giving to them the gift of
tongues. I humbly pray…

4. The Assumption of Our Blessed Mother Into Heaven

Meditation:
Glorious Mother Mary, meditating on the Mystery of your Assumption into Heaven, when, consumed with the
desire to be united with your divine Son, your soul departed from your body and united itself to Him, Who, out
of the excessive love He bore for you, His Mother, whose virginal body was His first tabernacle, took that body
into Heaven and there, amidst the acclaims of the angels and saints, fused into it your soul.
I humbly pray…

taken up, you were triply crowned as the August Queen of Heaven by God the Father as His beloved

Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina)

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, hail our life, our sweetness, and our hope!
To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, O most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us, and after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.
That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:
O God, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection,
has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life;
grant, we beseech You, that meditating upon these mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary,
we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.

May the divine assistance remain always with us. Amen.
And may the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart.
I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

In days of petition (Days 1–27):
Sweet Mother Mary, I offer you this Spiritual Communion to bind my
bouquets in a wreath to place upon your brow. O, my Mother! Look with favor upon my gift, and
in your love obtain for me (specify request)

In days of thanksgiving (Days 28–54):
Sweet Mother Mary, I offer you this Spiritual Communion to bind my
bouquets in a wreath to place upon your brow in thanksgiving for (specify request), which you in
your love have obtained for me.

Memorare

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your clemency hear and answer me. Amen.

Prayer to Saint Michael the Archangel

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Sign of the Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
