Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help or sought your intercession, was left unaided. Inspired by this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother! To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer us. Amen.

Day 1 – Our Lady, Defender of the Faith
“Taking that sweet Ave, which from Gabriel came, peace confirm within us, changing Eve’s name.”

Reflection:
Our Adorable Jesus chose Mary as the vessel through whom divine peace would be restored to the world. At the angel’s greeting, her “yes” reversed the disobedience of Eve and opened the door to salvation. In moments of fear, uncertainty, or spiritual attack, we turn to Our Lady Help of Christians, who brings calm and courage to her children. May her fiat inspire us to be faithful, trusting always in God’s providence and protection.
Prayer:
Mary Most Holy, Mother of goodness and mercy, who with your visible help oftentimes freed the Christian people from the assaults and barbarism of Moslems, we ask you, our Lady, to deliver our souls from the onslaughts of the world, the devil, and the flesh; and grant that we may obtain, at all times, complete victory over the enemies of our souls. Amen.

Day 2 – Our Lady, Refuge of Sinners
“Hail, Star of the Sea, Blessed Mother of God, ever fruitful Virgin, happy gate of heaven.”

Reflection:
Our Adorable Jesus longs for the return of every wandering heart. In our weakness, when sin clouds our conscience and guilt tempts us to despair, Our Lady Help of Christians comes as a gentle mother, guiding us back to grace. She leads us to the throne of mercy and teaches us to rise again with courage and humility. In every fall, she is our advocate; in every return, our joy.
Prayer:
O Virgin Most Holy, powerful Help of Christians, we confidently appeal to the throne of your mercy. Hear the prayers of us, poor sinners, who beg your help, that we may always flee from sin and from every occasion of sin. Behold the first grace that we ask from this novena. Amen.

Day 3 – Our Lady, Queen of Martyrs
“Show yourself our Mother by taking our voice to the One who deigned to be born for us, from you.”

Reflection:
Our Adorable Jesus did not promise us an easy road but one marked by the Cross. Yet in every trial, we find strength in the presence of Mary, Queen of Martyrs. She remained faithful at the foot of the Cross, teaching us that silent courage and interior fortitude are the soul’s greatest victories. With her example, we can persevere in our Christian witness even in the face of ridicule or rejection.
Prayer:
O Mary, our most sweet Mother, you who are Queen of Martyrs through so many heroic acts of courage and fortitude which you performed on earth, deign to instill in our hearts the necessary strength to always serve you. Help us to despise human respect and fulfill all our religious duties openly and without shame. May we remain your devout children at all times, even unto death. Amen.

Day 4 – Our Lady, Most Powerful Queen
“Break the sinners’ fetters, make our blindness day; chase from us all evils, for all blessings pray.”

Reflection:
Our Adorable Jesus entrusted the Church to Peter, and in Mary, the Church has a powerful protector. She triumphed over the false doctrines that sought to destroy the faith of many, remaining a beacon of light and truth in a world often clouded by error. As our Queen, Mary is ever ready to intercede for us, guiding us in purity of faith. May we, with her protection, always remain true to the teachings of the Church and the light of Christ.
Prayer:
O Mary, most powerful Queen, who alone triumphed over the false doctrines that sought to take away so many children from the bosom of Holy Mother Church, help us, we beg you, to keep and preserve our faith firmly and our hearts pure amidst the snares and venom of harmful errors. Amen.

Day 5 – Our Lady, Queen of the Apostles
“Keep our life all spotless, make our way secure till we find in Jesus, joy forevermore.”

Reflection:
Our Adorable Jesus, in His infinite love, entrusted us to His Blessed Mother, Mary, Queen of the Apostles. She is the model of perfect discipleship and the guiding light for all who proclaim the Gospel. As she supported the early Church with prayer and maternal care, so too does she sustain missionaries and all who labor for the salvation of souls. Her presence strengthens hearts, inspires courage, and leads us closer to Christ. May we, through her intercession, grow in unity, love, and zeal for the faith, bringing the light of Jesus to every corner of the world.
Prayer:
O Mary, Queen of the Apostles, take under thy precious protection the Sacred Ministers and all the faithful of the Catholic Church. Obtain for them the spirit of unity and fervent zeal for the salvation of souls. Particularly extend your loving help to missionaries, so they may lead all peoples of the earth to the true faith. Thus may the world become one fold under the guidance of only one Shepherd, Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

Day 6 – Our Lady, Protector of the Church
“O Virgin unexcelled and most gentle, make us meek and pure and preserve us from evil.”

Reflection:
Crowned with purity and clothed in meekness, Mary reflects the beauty of souls wholly surrendered to God. Our Adorable Jesus, in His infinite love, gave us His Mother as our protector and guide. In times of turmoil, such as the trials faced by Pope Pius VII, she stood firm, interceding with power and compassion. Today, we entrust to her the Holy Father and all who labor for the Church. May she uphold them in truth and fidelity, guarding the Bride of Christ from every storm. Through her, may all souls be led safely to Jesus, our refuge and our joy.
Prayer:
Mary, beloved Mother, who showed your precious Patronage in the triumph of Pope Pius VII, extend your holy mantle over Holy Mother Church, especially over her august head, against the assaults of so many enemies. Deliver him from temporal sufferings and assist him always that he may securely steer the barque of Peter in Truth, and overcome the proud waves attempting to sink it. Amen.

Day 7 – Our Lady, Mother of Mercy

Reflection:
In every age of confusion and peril, Heaven has sent us Mary as a radiant sign of mercy. She, whom Our Adorable Jesus entrusted to us from the Cross, has rescued countless souls from the plagues of sin and unbelief. Today, as irreligion spreads and many stray from Truth, we flee to her maternal care. Her intercession strengthens the weary, rekindles faith in the lukewarm, and calls the lost to repentance. Through her prayers, may the light of Christ pierce every shadow, and may the world return to the Heart of Jesus, where love, truth, and eternal life reign forever.
Prayer:
O Mary, Mother of Mercy, who so often saved Christians from the plague and other bodily scourges by your powerful intercession, help us and deliver us now from the plague of impiety and irreligion, which insinuates itself in a thousand ways into our souls, keeping us from the Church and pious practices, especially through sects, the press, and perverse schools.
We humbly ask you to help the good, that they may persevere; strengthen the weak; call the wayward and sinners to repentance, so that the Truth and the Kingdom of Jesus Christ may triumph here on earth, thus increasing your glory and that of your Son, and saving souls.

Day 8 – Our Lady, Refuge of Sinners
“What Eve had destroyed, was created, through you, Holy Mary, once again in the Son, opening Heaven’s gate and giving refuge to the downcast.”

Reflection:
Through the intercession of Our Lady, what was lost through the disobedience of Eve is restored. She is the one who, by her “yes,” allowed the gates of Heaven to open to humanity once again, leading us back to God’s grace and mercy. She is the refuge for all who are downcast and broken, the one who guides us to salvation through her Son. In every trial, we turn to her, knowing she will intercede on our behalf, helping us to remain faithful to God’s calling, especially in the most difficult moments of our lives.
Prayer:
O Mary, our most gracious Mother, always so ready to be the help of Christians, assist us with your powerful patronage throughout our lives and especially at the hour of death. Grant that, having loved and revered you on earth, we may sing your mercies in Heaven. We ask for your intercession, that we may always turn to you in our need, finding refuge in your maternal care.

DAY 9 – Our Lady, Help of Christians

Reflection:
Our Adorable Jesus, in His infinite mercy, chose to dwell in the womb of Mary, making her the most exalted of all creation. She who bore the Savior of the world now stands as our powerful intercessor. Through her, we are drawn closer to the Heart of Jesus, nourished with divine grace. In moments of need, we turn to her, seeking refuge, for she, our Help of Christians, will always lead us back to her Son, Our Savior.
Prayer:
O Mary, the Church’s spiritual pillar and Help of Christians, we ask for your protection over our souls, that we may remain firm in the Divine Faith. Safeguard us in the freedom and dignity of God’s children. We promise to live in the teachings of the Church and never stain our souls with sin. May we always remain faithful to you and the Church, our true refuge and guide to eternal salvation.
O God, You who established the Mother of Your beloved Son as Mother and Help of Christians, grant that we may always live under Your protection, and may the Church rejoice in Your everlasting peace.
