Starting Date: February 2
Ending Date: February 10
Feast Date: February 11 (Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes)
Patronage: Our Lady of Lourdes is the patroness of the sick, the suffering, and those in need of healing, as well as the patroness of Lourdes and France.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Opening Prayer:
Our Lady of Lourdes, we come before you as your children, full of confidence in your motherly love. Just as you appeared to Saint Bernadette in the grotto of Massabielle, revealing the beauty of your Immaculate Conception, so too do we seek your heavenly guidance.
O Blessed Virgin, you invited us to prayer and penance, and you promised healing to those who turn to your Son with faith. We now place all our petitions at your feet, trusting that you will intercede for us before the throne of God.
(State your intentions here.)
Holy Mother, help us to grow in purity, humility, and love for Jesus. May we, like Saint Bernadette, embrace the cross with patience and joy. Obtain for us, through your powerful intercession, the graces we need in this life and the happiness of eternal life in Heaven. Amen.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
Saint Bernadette, pray for us.
Daily Prayers
Day 1: The Call to Prayer
O Immaculate Virgin, when you appeared to Bernadette, you joined your hands in prayer, showing us that prayer is the foundation of all holiness. You asked for the Rosary to be prayed daily. Help us to make prayer the center of our lives, offering everything to Jesus through your hands. Strengthen our faith so that, even in suffering, we may never neglect the duty of lifting our hearts to God.
Our Lady of Lourdes, teach us to pray with devotion, love, and perseverance, so that we may remain always united to your Divine Son. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 2: Trust in God’s Will
O Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes, you appeared to Bernadette with a gentle smile, reassuring her of God’s love despite her poverty and frailty. You teach us that true joy comes from trusting in God’s will, even when we do not understand His plans.
Mother, help us to surrender all our fears, worries, and struggles to the Lord. Increase our trust so that we may embrace His will with joy, knowing that He always desires what is best for us. May we, like Saint Bernadette, rely on His divine providence and remain steadfast in faith. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 3: The Grace of Penance
O Holy Mother, at Lourdes, you called for penance, reminding us that sin separates us from God. You asked Bernadette to make sacrifices and pray for sinners.
We, too, are sinners in need of conversion. Help us to renounce sin and detach our hearts from worldly distractions. Give us the grace of true repentance, that we may seek the sacrament of Confession with humility and sincerity. May our daily acts of love and sacrifice bring reparation to the Heart of Jesus and draw us closer to holiness. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 4: Healing of Body and Soul
O Mother of Mercy, at Lourdes, you revealed the miraculous spring of healing water, offering comfort and restoration to the sick. So many have been cured by your intercession, yet the greatest healing is the one of the soul.
We bring before you all those who suffer physically, emotionally, or spiritually. Grant them strength, peace, and perseverance. But most of all, heal our hearts from sin, resentment, and despair. May we always trust in your powerful intercession and open ourselves to the grace of Christ, the Divine Healer. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 5: Love for the Holy Eucharist
O Blessed Virgin, you who remained in constant adoration of Jesus, hidden in the Most Blessed Sacrament, teach us to love the Eucharist as you did. You called Bernadette to kneel before the grotto in prayer, just as we are called to kneel before our Eucharistic Lord with faith and love.
Mother, grant us a burning desire to receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist with reverence, devotion, and love. May we never take this precious gift for granted but seek to be united with Him daily, drawing strength from His Real Presence in our lives. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 6: The Virtue of Humility
O Immaculate Virgin, though you are the Queen of Heaven, you appeared to a poor and humble girl in Lourdes, showing us the beauty of humility. You did not seek earthly glory, but instead, you glorified God in all things.
Teach us to imitate your humility, to recognize our nothingness before God, and to rely on His grace alone. Deliver us from pride, self-love, and vanity. May we embrace humility in our words, thoughts, and actions, always striving to serve others with love. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 7: Devotion to You, Our Mother
O Sweet Mother, you appeared to Bernadette as a loving and gentle mother, calling us to draw near to your Immaculate Heart. You are our refuge in times of distress, our consolation in suffering, and our guide on the path to Heaven.
Help us to grow in love for you and to entrust ourselves completely to your care. Teach us to pray the Rosary daily, to imitate your virtues, and to always turn to you in our struggles. O Mary, lead us ever closer to Jesus, your Divine Son. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 8: Perseverance in Faith
O Mother of Hope, at Lourdes, you asked for faith and perseverance in prayer, even when trials seem overwhelming. We often grow discouraged when our prayers seem unanswered or when suffering weighs upon us.
Grant us the grace of unwavering faith, that we may trust in God’s timing and wisdom. Give us patience to endure hardships with confidence in God’s goodness. Like Saint Bernadette, may we always cling to the promises of Christ and never lose hope. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Day 9: The Joy of Heaven
O Queen of Heaven, you have shown us through Lourdes that our true home is in Heaven. You appeared to Saint Bernadette to remind us that this life is temporary, and that eternal joy awaits those who remain faithful to God.
Help us to live each day with Heaven in mind, making choices that bring us closer to Jesus. May we always seek the kingdom of God above all else, knowing that in the end, nothing matters but being united with Him forever. Pray for us, dear Mother, that one day, we may rejoice with you in eternal glory. Amen.
(Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory Be…)
Daily Closing Prayer:
O Holy Virgin of Lourdes, with unwavering confidence, we have prayed this novena, trusting in your motherly intercession. You are our refuge, our consolation, and our hope.
As we conclude these nine days of prayer, we renew our love and devotion to you. Continue to be our guide in life and our advocate before the throne of God. May we always walk in the light of Christ and remain faithful to His will.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us!
Saint Bernadette, pray for us!
Amen.
